Keihard.CC is a cycling community that we founded in 2020 in our home town of Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
Since then, we have organised more than 150 social rides and events, from our weekly Wednesday evening rides to longer routes, special events and collaborations with local partners. Our beginnings were humble, but our Strava club — verified since 2025 — now has more than 600 members.
Our aim has always been fairly simple: have fun, ride bikes, meet new people and build connections and community.
That means organising consistent rides, communicating clearly and creating an atmosphere in which new people can join without things feeling complicated or overly formal. We cater to a wide range of riders, from beginners who are new to road cycling in a group or formation to experienced cyclists joining fast-paced drop rides that often average over 40 km/h. Safety, clear expectations and finding the right group for each rider are important throughout.
Over time, the club has grown and evolved into more than a weekly ride. People meet through Keihard.CC, ride together and have fun, but the real value often comes afterwards. A cycling buddy becomes a friend, connections extend beyond the club and new friendships are formed.
For us, a lot of the work happens behind the scenes. This includes the positioning of the club, communication, visual identity, newsletters, event concepts, partnerships and merchandise. The challenge is to our message consistent while giving the community itself room to grow, contribute and come up with new ideas.
Keihard.CC is not a traditional cycling club. There are no memberships, no obligations or no training programmes. It is a modern, informal community with a clear identity and a strong local base.
More than 150 rides and events and over 600 Strava members later, the principle remains the same: ride, have fun, connect.
